Subs and Substance Week 6 & 7

In week 6 the boys were challenged with the following questions:

1.     What is the most courageous thing you have ever done?
2.     What is one of your greatest weaknesses?
3.     What words encourage you the most?
After sharing their answers, in week 7 the group talked about weakness...
·        Is it good to be weak?
·        Is it good to be strong?
Have you ever heard, “your greatest strength can become your greatest weakness? “
What are some examples of that?
·        Me, I am able to work long and hard but lose out on relationships.
·        I am pretty confident and self assured – this can cause me to seem arrogant and conceited.
In our strength, what do we rely on?  - Ourselves!
2 Corinthians 12:9-10
9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Paul encourages that in our weakness we depend on God’s power rather than a lesser, far inferior option – our strength. What’s your choice?
“Weak or Strong? Your choice!
