Wisdom:
· Wisdom is available for everyone. Young and old.
· What is the difference between being smart and being wise?
· The bible says we should we desire wisdom. Why? “it is life to the soul”, Prov. 3:21-23.
· What good will wisdom do us?
o “Provides Safety and Security”, Prov. 3:23
o “Provides Peace”, Prov. 3:23
o “Provides Confidence, Prov. 3:26
How do we get wisdom:
· Ask God for it. James 1:5-6. “God gives it freely and generously.”
· Apply yourself to the reading and application of the bible. (Live the way it tells you to.)
· The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Prov. 9:10
What are the benefits of having wisdom:
· List several benefits of wisdom.
· Wisdom will help you choose your friends. The wise man/young man chooses his friends wisely.
· Not everyone will be your friend, nor will you be everyone’s friend. God wants it to be that way.
· True friendships are God-honoring because both people have the same large goals.
· 75% of high school students walk away from church after they graduate and enter college. Why? Primarily because of their friends. Peer pressure.
· What does a godly friendship look like? Friends need to be there for one another, stay in touch with one another, hold one another accountable, hold to a higher standard.
· A godly friend is Faithful and Truthful.
